To say that 2020 has been a strange year could be considered an understatement. Lots has happened and most of it has been somewhat negative. I’ve heard people making comments from ‘I can’t wait for this year to be over’ to ‘I wish 2020 had never happened’. Yes, it has been stressful, and I’m sure there will be lots more stress to come.
I’ve never had what could be considered mental health issues. I face the same challenges as most people, but have even found it difficult at times staying positive. I have felt sorry for myself at times, and I know when I’m in these mindsets, The more doom and gloom I feel, the more I tend to find.
I heard a quote on a podcast recently originally made by John Lennon – ‘Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end’. That hit home, because that has really been my story. I as many have gone through some tough struggles in life, but in the end, it always comes out ok. So I try to keep that thought in mind when I’m kind of stuck in what 2020 has become. Know that it will be ok in the end!
Until then, try and stay positive. Do the little things that make us happy. Spend time with our friends and family, and find little pieces of joy wherever you can, for ‘this too shall pass’.
